What's the difference between world geography and world topography?

While both generally study the Earth and its contents, to put it simply, geography is the horizontal study, while topography is the vertical study. According to Wikipedia, geography is: "the science that deals with the study of the Earth and its lands, features, inhabitants, and phenomena. " The general assumption is that geography only learns about the spread of land or sea, but that is not the case.

Branches of geography studies how (horizontal) shapes of land might (or could) influence humans residing there - how they cultivate on certain terrain, how location affects culture, and so on. Topography is explained in Wikipedia as: "the recording of relief or terrain, the three-dimensional quality of the surface, and the identification of specific landforms. " - in the US, it is generally viewed as the study that maps the shapes on earth.

Topography is usually very valuable in city planning or even emergency planning.

There is really no difference between world geography and geography. Geography is the study of the world, its people, land, water and features. Some schools will offer different types of geography classes such as world geography, geography specific to one area of the world, environmental geography, human geography and physical geography. In essence, geography and world geography are interchangeable terms.

Two main branches of geography, or world geography, are physical geography and environmental geography. Physical Geography studies the land, the weather, climate, plants and animals and is considered an earth science. Human geography focuses on people and their relationships, both positive and negative, with the world.

I’m taking human geography in college right now and am finding it very interesting. While we do study, briefly, waters and land masses, we focus more on the effect that humans have, intentionally or unintentionally, had on the geography of the world. We also study the effect that the land (or geography) has had on people.

It’s a very interesting topic of study.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
