Anyone who gives you a definitive answer is being illogical, because it depends entirely on the individual. Some people find weed only exacerbates those feelings, while many others think it offers a pleasant distraction and physical therapy. I am also fighting depression and a daily pot smoker, and I've found that it's great at lowering my stress levels and blood pressure.

It also distracts me from the urge to self-harm. Weed gives you the chance to calm down, open your mind and examine situations with a more relaxed (and therefore rational) perspective. HOWEVER, do not -- under any circumstances -- smoke K2 or Spice.

Any "synthetic marijuana" is nothing like real marijuana and it is TERRIBLE for you. Research studies they've done on it -- not good. Stick to the real bud, man.

Also, do NOT listen to the answer that talked about weed inducing ANYTHING such as schizophrenic traits or brain damage. Cannabis only induces schizophrenia in people who are already in danger of developing the disorder -- it will not CAUSE the disorder in just anybody. Everything that "by welcome home" said is not supported by legitimate factual evidence, so don't let him psych you out.

People who talk like him are only saying their own baseless assumptions, or opinions formed by being fed propaganda like false advertising and exaggerated school health lessons for years. Yes, SOME people get paranoid and crash afterward, but that does not go for everyone. You have to smoke it and gauge it yourself.

For that answerer to say " I know, trust me," is just illogical because while HE may have experienced it that way, everyone experiences it differently. Here is factual, up-to-date information on marijuana, which in and of itself is not lethal or dangerous (its smoke is, but that's only because any smoke harms your lungs): "There is no scientific evidence that marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness in either teenagers or adults. Some marijuana users experience psychological distress following marijuana ingestion, which may include feelings of panic, anxiety, and paranoia.

Such experiences can be frightening, but the effects are temporary. Marijuana does not cause profound changes in people's behavior." Iverson, Leslie.

The fact that you're calling prescription drugs bad and addictive but don't see these negative points in weed in a concern. Weed is extremely addictive (psychologically, not physically). I was addicted for several years and have been off it now for almost 2 years.

All I can tell you is that weed will never solve your problems. It may make you care about them less but never will it solve them. People seem to labour under the misconception that because weed/cannabis is herbal/natural that it is harmless.

You could not be more wrong. Prolonged use of this drug can lead to serious mental health issues (scientifically proven), schizophrenia being just one, and it will make your depression worse. The thing is, when you're smoking weed you probably won't care because you're stoned.

No drug on its own will solve your problems, only you can do that. Pharmaceutical assistance is possible but it's not the be all and end all. It takes hard work from yourself as well as possibly medication and/or some kind of therapy to get better.

I wish you the best.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
