"TCM has been used for thousands of years, so it must work" (Appeal to Tradition fallacy.) "If it doesn't work, how come my patients are 'cured'?" (Confusing Cause and Effect. Biased Sample.) "Alt med is used by the majority of the world, therefore it must work" (Appeal to Popularity.) And my favourite: "I don't care if you've got proof that alt med doesn't work, I've tried alt med and it works for me!" This is known as a "Relativist Fallacy" and works thus: 1) Claim X is presented.
2) Person A asserts that X may be true for others but is not true for him/her. 3) Therefore A is justified in rejecting X. Perfect in describing the level of ignorance some wear as a badge of pride.
First would have to be: "Since conventional medicine is ineffective, than alternative medicine MUST be effective!". Those two have NOTHING to do with each other. It's like me saying "Well since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren't the greatest footbal team of all time, the Buffalo Bills MUST be the greatest football team of all time!".
Just because Side is is wrong, does not mean side B is right; both sides can be wrong. Second would be the "It's a big pharma consipiracy!". So they mean that every doctor, every nurse, every Physician's assistant, every anesthesiologist, every pharmacist, every politician, and every college educator on EARTH is in on one big global conspiracy to do harm to the populace?
How the hell would we fight that if true? Spreading your "truth" to a select naive few? How would this harm this globe spanning conspiracy in any way; you might as well just go along with it because you can't fight it if the conspiracy really exists.
It's like having a 50 meter high steel wall in your way, so you bang your head against it hoping to knock it down.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
