Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs, even Elton John. He's not the first person to say that Jesus was gay. Did everyone forget the controversy over the play "Corpus Christi" where Jesus was portrayed as gay?
I think its more important to use this as a time to ask myself: do I think Jesus was straight? The Bible doesn't speak of Jesus' sex life, its generally assumed that he didn't have one. So how can we make an assumption either way?
The only assumption that I am willing to make is that he was not asexual. He had human desires.
To me, it's just another one of those inane comments celebrities make to stir up controversy and keep their names in the news.
One of the reasons the outlandish Christian religion persists is that people project their own idealized characteristics on its prophet. So he's black for blacks, gay for gays etc. Christian women do the same for Mary. Also note, one can safely be a gay woman or man in Israel.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
