When I boot my computer I get an error window and a different window when shutting down. Can anyone help? At boot-up I get a small rectangular window with the title in the blue bar at the top: RegSvr32.

The window has a yellow triangle on the left with a black exclamation point. The text says: LoadLibrary("C:\Documents and Settings\all users\application data\vsdidunidll") failed -- The specific module could not be found. When I turn off the computer, I get a larger window with title in the blue bar: End Program - rundll32.exe.

Then there is a horizontal bar that slowly fills with small vertical rectangles. Under that: If you choose to end the program immediately, you will loose any unsaved data. To end the program now, click End Now.

Their is a End Now rectangle in the lower right corner. Both of these are relative new (especially the first). Can anyone tell me what they mean and advise how to correct the errors and get rid of them.

System Restore Well first of all I will assume that you are using Windows XP based on the "topics" for your question. If this is a recent enough problem do a sytem restore to a date prior to the problem. Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore. It is very simple and straight forward.

This will only revert your system file and should not touch any data files (documents etc...). Regardless whether this works or not you need to do a thorough virus scan and spyware scan. I HIGHLY recommend the following (Both are FREE): Spybot: Search & Destroy (http://fileforum.betanews.com/sendfile/1043809773/1/spybotsd152.exe) & tutorial (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/tutorial/index.html) AVG Free (if you do not have a current reputable AV software yet): (http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?tag=pdp_prod) It is VERY important that the first thing you do is to update each before your first scan.

Also I would only run one at a time. Be sure to use the Immunization on Spybot... it is very handy You will probably want to NOT use TeaTimer as it is annoying. Hope this helps!

General advice Sorry, but I've never seen this specific error and I can't find any reference to it through google. I also found no reference to vsdidunidll which is odd. Basically, the first error is being caused by an attempt to load a nonexistent system library when the computer boots. It's complaining that it can't find the file.

The second error is not terribly uncommon and is caused by a program refusing to shut down. I get this all the time on my laptop and I just end the program and continue. Some programs just aren't well written and don't respond to windows request to shut them down.

Neither one of these errors are critical and if the system is otherwise running fine I wouldn't worry about it too much. The first problem is probably caused by a program that didn't install or uninstall correctly and the second one is probably just a badly written program. It is possible that you could have a piece of malware or a trojan installed. I would recommend getting Spybot Search & Destroy and running it.

This should identify any malware or trojans and give you the option of removing them. If you don't already run a virus scanner I would recommend getting and installing the free version of Avast. This will identify any possible viruses you may have on your system and allow you to clean them up.

You may also want to attempt to uninstall some of the programs you no longer URL3 may be one of them that's causing the problem. Unfortunately, any other recommendations I would have would involve editing the registry and that takes a bit of expertise since it can potentially damage your windows installation.

Back up, format C and reinstall. I think you are probably suffering a virus or a spyware effect, perhaps it has deleted some archives already or has alterated your windows registry, it's posssible to find products in the Internet that help you get rid of the virus or the spywarte, malware. But they will not give you back the archives and configurations that your computer already lost.

Then you have 2 optionsFirst option and less draconian :) If your computer has begun to give you this problem not so long ago (lets say a few days) you can try restoring the system. Go to START, accesories, system tools and hit restore the system. You will be presnted with a screen to choose a date to restore your system to, try a date before you started receiving that messages.

Second and very draqconian option :) If you have been getting this option for long time (lets say a week or more) or if the first option doesnnt work, then do the following. First make sure to back up any personnal data, photos, documents, projects of any kind, all the stuff that you have in your computer that you know you will be unable to get or reinstall or download again. Remember your savegames (if you are a gamer or your childrens are) also remember the contact list if you use a not web based email client.

Then wipe everything from your harddisk with a format C, no matter how good the virus it will not survive this :DIf you have a Windows XP disc installer that its bootable at the same time this will be a lot easier. If you don't know what Im talking about check this:ehow.com/how_6026_format-hard-drive.html... is a step by step guide, very usefull. Then reinstall your windows XP and there you have a fresh computer out of the oven :)Of course you still have to reinstall all your stuff, also try to scan with an antivirus (avg for example) everything before putting it back to the PC (the virus could be hiding there, you know?)Good luck with that :) Sources: My Opinion .

1 For correction of the first error I would suggest the following. If you know of any software you recently uninstalled manually or had problems uninstalling, you should try reinstalling it and then uninstalling it again using either the uninstall that may have come with the program or through the "Program Uninstall or Change" applet through your control panel. This should completly remove the registry entries and program start up entry your computer is looking to load on startup which in turn shoud get rid of this error.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
