It must be an emptiness within to do it for the reasons you stated. In the northern and western European countries we don't get as much sun as other parts of the world and so we get out in it when we can, one of the benefits of that is the formulation of vitamin D. Then there are those who sit under sun ray lamps under the mistaken belief that tanning their skin makes them look better, but, of course.
There is the vitamin D factor. But what about those who paint fake tan on their skin? I can't see any reason why people would want to bleach their skin, what is the purpose, tanning in the sun is natural, bunging chemicals on isn't, it can also have some absurd looking effects of mottling, and some dangerous effects of peeling.
I think that depends more on the person. If a person is bleaching there skin because they feel they are too dark then YES something is distrubing about that. However some people (especially African Americans) bleach certain parts of there skin to create an even skin tone.
I know from personal experience. As a teenager I had some major acne which left very dark noticable marks on my face. I used a bleaching cream to get rid of those marks.
I think tanning on the other hand is more for fashion just like anything else people do to aid their appearance.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
