NO--if . . If you have set-up your browser correctly, then everything you look up on other websites while on Askville will open in a new tab, and will not affect Askville in any way (it will NOT "disappear").

If you have Askville parked down in your tray ("bottom left of your screen"), you have merely minimized the tab, and all you have to do is click on it to return the page to its full size. There is no need to minimize it, however, as all your tabs will be arrayed across the top of your browser screen, and all you have to do is switch back-and-forth between them while answering a question.. By the way, I highly recommend Mozilla Firefox for use as your browser, if you are not using it already. It is far less vulnerable to "hacker" attacks--worms, trojans, viruses, and such--and more user-friendly than Internet Explorer.

Opera is also a good browser, but Netscape Navigator is so complicated as to be a disaster). If you have a Mac, you, of course, are more or less stuck with Safari--at least for the time being..

Not Google or Metacrawler or Wikipedia. About Amazon I can't tell you. Sources: personal experience .

It doesn't disappear on me... I've never had that problem. Maybe when you click on a link and it's opening in a new window, it's taking over the window that had Askville on it. I use IE and always open in a new Tab instead of a new Window.

That way nothing will disappear.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
