A lot of reading Start with Michael Huemer's Why I Am Not An Objectivist. It's a little long and tedious, but it's fairly concrete and avoids the screechy pitfalls of much criticism of Objectivism. Proceed to the "What's wrong with Objectivism FAQ", which is less boring but also a little more ad hominem.(The personalities in this argument are so strong that there is more than a little personal friction, and it's very hard to keep the debate entirely reasoned, on both sides.) If you can work your way through both of those you'll have a pretty good understanding of the key refutations of Rand's theories.
It's too bad that it takes so much work, because Rand has made some pretty substantial statements about human nature and the key criticism is that those statements are oversimplified. There's on simple way to refute an oversimplification; you have to demonstrate where the oversimplifications break down and that takes a lot of words. If you'd like even more reading, there are some good books listed at the Objectivism Resource Center.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
