Obviously you don't mean it and you're sarcastically complaining about people living in the USA who speak other languages. It's very likely some of your ancestors came to the USA speaking other languages, but of course your family has more rights than other people.
Living in the EU and seeing how they find it difficult to adopt as little as three official languages (English, French, and German were proposed) and now have more than 20, I wouldn't say it's a good idea for a nation to do away with its official language. You can't have an efficient government as long as all official documents have to be translated into 20 or more languages, and then be checked for translation errors, then be debated, and then maybe rediscussed because one language group doubts the correctness of the translation. So as sure as there is, from a linguistic point of view, nothing like "standard English", the American versions of English have worked out fine for the nation, so why should you change anything?
Have a look at Europe, and be happy about what you've got. Don't change it for anything in the world! (That being said, learning a foreign laguage just for the fun of it is okay.).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
