Children learn from cartoon shows. Usually the heros in those shows are cool, they are hardly geeky, that's if they WANT a child audience lol. Maybe they apply this to everyday life?
I mean my little cousin doesn't like some heros because to him they aren't cool enough. Similarly, ugly characters are usually the bad guys. It's slack that its happening to you, but why are you so shocked?
Kids are more liekly to do this than adults? I have never met an adult who judged someone on coolness haha. They use different criteria like status and dress.
Look at Barbie, she is the idol of some little girls, maybe this is why they favoured you over the 'heavier' teacher? They don't know any better, ey so this is probably why they act like this, at this stage of their development. Or the school/childcare you are working at might just be full of brats.
I sometimes felt more interested in and pulled toward those more aethestically appealing (skinny, pretty) as a child (maybe because I used to idolise them lol), but didn't make judgments that heavy on their appearance alone. You should reward the children when they make good remarks about person's inner attributes, rather than about skin-deep attributes. Still, don't negatively punish them too badly if they don't like someone who is fat.
They may turn on you lol. Hope this helps! Name: Your comment is idiotic, prejudice is when you form a preconception about someone based on whateve characteristic (in this case older and heavier).
The OP has not done this to the slightest so how can you say she was being prejudice? To answer my own question, I say you have yet to use a dictionary and look up the word 'prejudice'. People don't need prejudice against YOU, because you're outwardly stupid.
It depends on the parenting. Because when I was a little child, I remember going up to the ugly people and telling them they were pretty. Or just didn't say anything.
I even knew not to stare at physically deformed people..Theres just not alot of great parents these days.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
