Where do you find your photos you use as thumbnails for your hubs?

Personally, I go by the policy that if I can't find copyright information I assume it is copyrighted and permission is needed to use it. Wikimedia commons has a lot of photos that are "free" to use (they might still have conditions, such as attributing the photo to the author, or not modifying it, etc. )Also, most government photos are free to use. There are some very good photos to be found from government agencies.

The military and NASA for instance take some pretty good photos. They aren't necessarily the easiest to browse, they can still be a good source. I will occasionally use a news photo because I believe that news-worthy photos belong more to all of us than to news agencies - they probably wouldn't agree with that - I don't do it often and I always attribute the source.

I go to google. Com and click on images and type in the image I want. I also go to yahoo.Com and aol.

Com but they are basically the same pictures. Go to FORUMS and look under the Helps Section and find out what others are using, but I find it convenient to do the way I just mentioned. Here is an article I wrote that might help you with some other things.

hubpages.com/hub/What-I-Have-Learned-About.

I think 90% of hubbers are like everyone else on the internet and just use Google images. I just always am sure to put the source where I got it from which I believe makes it more than fair. Every now and then, like for my hub on Closet Organizing, I use my own pictures (pictures of my own closet).

As long as the picture is related to the topic and you provide the source if it is not your own, I see nothing wrong with it.

If you are trying to promote a product you can get it from their main website, other wise sxc.hu/ is one of the best places to get royalty free stock images. ;).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
