Where is a good, inexpensive university to study Molecular Biology or Molecular Genetics?

I already have degrees in international business and marketing, so I am hoping some of those credits will transfer. Also, I would prefer to be in a large city. Also, night courses are a necessity as I will be working to pay for this education.

Generally, a state school will provide you with the best value But that's mostly true if you're a resident, and it usually takes a year before being able to establish residency for tuition purposes. As for transfer credits, most universities will accept them but will only allow you a limited number to be applicable toward a degree, often not more than 30. So you might still have to put in at least two and probably three years no matter where you end up going.

Looking over US News and World Report's list of universities offering degrees in Molecular Biology, it seems the best values would be:Arizona State UniversityUniversity of Michigan–FlintThey're not really big name schools, but they're reputations aren't bad and they do meet your criteria generally. I hope this helps! Sources: usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/majors/bri... .

For an undergraduate degree... I always recommend Princeton. It is very expensive if you are wealthy, but if you are not, it is quite cheap. If you can get in, they will ensure you can pay for it.

Along with Harvard, they have made a stated commitment to admitting more middle and poor students. I believe they don't even offer student loans any more. They offer only scholarships, and the scholarships are based solely on need (there are no athletic or merit scholarships.) And over 60% of the students get some kind of financial aid.

I would suggest Harvard too, but I don't know if their moly bio department is as good as Princeton's. The reason Harvard and Princeton can make this kind of commitment is, paradoxically, they are so wealthy, more than the other Ivy Leagues. So they can afford to have a mediocre football team, for example. They can give out their money who whomever they want.

They don't need to give out academic scholarships because more top students apply than they can handle already. People don't realize it, but Harvard and Princeton are, to a large extent, machines for giving people who aren't wealthy a chance to move up in the world. It might seem like a long shot, but what the hey?

There is no harm in applying..

2 First, I will need the necessary classes I have missed by studying business. So, I will need an undergrad degree first - after which I would go into a PhD program. At the moment, I'm just looking for on undergrad program.

3 EddieNygma, regarding your answer "Generally, a state school will provide you with the best value":The US News reports are very, very unreliable. Check out the way they rate schools, and you will see. Everybody in education knows it, but they can't shake its hold on people.

Many schools have resorted to gaming the reports, to try to move up in those lists. Also, if I recall correctly, they only list the tuition fees, or the MSRP if you will. They don't state the average tuition people actually pay, which would be very hard to discover from the outside.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
