Agua Verde or the NWOC Agua Verde Paddle Club is fun and easy amatuer recreational kayaking. You can go into the botanical gardens and out into Lake Washington or Lake Union. Rates are decent, plus you can have margaritas outside on the patio when you’re done!

Located in the U-Dist. NWOC (Northwest Outdoor Center) has a great beginner’s class that teaches you how the basics and requires you to steer without a rudder. Lots of different kayaks, paddles, and life vests to choose from, and they offer an annual membership that gives you virtually unlimited kayak rentals for a year--great to test out different kayak styles.
