Joshua Tree, established in 1936, is a wonderful 1,239 square mile National Park at the confluence of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts in California's high desert. There are nine campgrounds within the park but only two provide water, flush toilets and dump stations: • Black Rock (100 sites) • Cottonwood (62 sites) Water is also available at the Oasis Visitor Center, Indian Cove Ranger Station and the West Entrance. Sites range from $10-$15 per night.
If you’re in an RV, generator use is limited to six hours a day: 7 to 9 a.m. , noon to 2 p.m. , and 5 to 7 p.m.
Sites at Black Rock and Indian Cove campgrounds can be reserved from October 1 through May 31.
