Anne Frank was hiding in an annex. In the room, her hiding place looked like a bookcase. It opened like a door.
Behind it had everything you needed to survive for a life time acctualy: it was the attic of her fathers buissness. They had hired people to get them food and supplies - infact one of them is still alive - Meip The Franks, the van Pels and a dentist (Fritz Pfeffer) hid in the achterhuis (back house) a group of three rooms plus added bathroom at the upper rear of Mr. Frank's rented office building Though the rooms totaled only about 550 square feet of space, the eight living there knew it was "posh" by the standards of most hiding Jews.
