Waikiki Beach is where all the action is on the island of Oahu. All the beach babes are out during the day, and everyone parties in the Waikiki Beach night clubs after sundown. Places along the beach rent kayaks and Boogie Boards, so you don't have to bring yours.

We stayed at the Hale Koa because it was the least expensive hotel right on Waikiki Beach. The most fun hotel right on Waikiki Beach is probably the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Waikiki Beachside Hostel on the Lemon Rd. Wasn't so bad. Of course, some people might be a bit too picky for that kind of environment.

Dr. Evil's secret Volcano Base because its full of Fembots and quasi-futuristic stuff! But you might have trouble finding it cuz its secret!

I'd consider a hostel. I haven't tried them in Hawaii, but they usually have a very friendly, open, international atmosphere and tend to be much more social and youth based than other options! Check out hostelworld.com and do a search for Honolulu, etc. to see whats available.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
