The states with nuclear reactors are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi , Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. The criteria for building a nuclear reactors are nuclear plants have very compact sites of 500 to 1000 acres including the exclusion area around the plant. All plants need a containment building, a reactor building, a turbine building, an Intake Structure, a Fuel Building, and a Diesel Generator Building.
