You could, especially if as I suspect, the terrain is going to be rough but whether your dog would keep them on, be happy wearing them if she doesn't normally, is questionable. This sore foot possibility is part of why I suggested before that you should have back-up so somebody can pick up your dog if she goes lame during the long walk. And using common sense really.
Ps If your dog is young and appears to have soft pads at the moment, she may well have problems on a long rough walk. Otherwise she's not a heavy dog so should be able to cope with this walk. After all working BCs don't wear boots and they cover huge distances, rarely going lame.
Unless your dog has a history of ripping paw pads, or having sensitive paws, I wouldn't bother. My Border Collie hikes many different terrains for varying distances and has no need for boots. My Kelpie mix only utilizes boots in the winter.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
