What's annoying is the CHANGE, not what time the sun rises.
I've always been in favour of "Daylight Spending". I've been getting up at around 4:30 am for over 20 years, and riding and running in the dark isn't always that much fun. With "Daylight Spending" it would be lighter earlier and I could save a considerable amount on batteries for the lights on my bike.
Seriously though, living in a humid and hot state and having Daylight Saving makes for some very frayed people, me included. Even though the rest of Australia has now moved to Daylight Saving, in Queensland where I live, we carry on as usual. We did have a trial about 20 years ago and then a referendum to vote for a continuation or cessation.
The 'nays' won and it would take another referendum to change this situation. Me, I'd still want to keep the current situation as being able to walk, run and cycle at 5:00 am, in the light, is a truly great feeling. Selfish maybe, but the other option doesn't appeal in the least.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
