The city center is the area to be in for tourist attractions, but you will need to work out your preferences using maps , pricing , what you think you like from pictures. Las Ramblas is an interesting area - you should research this if you want - here's some places to stay if you change your mind.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
