Which shoes should I get? (pointe shoes or demi-pointe shoes)?

The thing about pointe is that it's really easy until you get tired/careless, and then you make mistakes like rolling or going too far over your block. I would suggest doing a good deal of practice like releves, rises, and using a theraband first. If you are confident in your foot/ankle strength AND if your dance teacher approves, you could get a pair of (properly fitted!) pointe shoes and do some simple things like rises, releves, couru and echappes.

However, you have to be very careful of a few things: First, make sure that your feet have completely stopped growing. If they haven't, you could seriously damage your feet. Second, do not overexert yourself.

Only do fifteen minutes or less of pointe a day, until you get more comfortable en pointe. Third, don't do things that you're not ready for, like turns, releves on one foot, or hops. Now is not a time to be daring.

Stick to the basics, and once you've entered a pointe class you can move on to more advanced work. Also, make sure you have a good floor. Concrete will ruin your shoes and possibly your feet, and carpet will mess your balance up and make you roll your ankles.

Use a hardwood or linoleum floor that has some give. Another thing to consider is that these shoes will be brand new, so you will have to break them in. This will be painful, and you will have to wear toe tape in order to keep from getting too many blisters.

Be sure that you're wearing appropriate pads/toe spacers to ensure a good fit, and keep your nails properly trimmed. Whatever you do, DON'T go up en pointe in pre-point shoes. They have no shank, and if you use them like point shoes without having a LOT of foot strength/experience you will almost certainly hurt your feet.

Their only purpose is to get beginners used to the feel of a box instead of canvas. May I just stress one more time the importance of having strong feet and ankles. Do not neglect your demipointe exercises!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
