White skin vs Black Skin, Why do people indulge in racism?

People indulge in it for a number of reasons. The most basic are ignorance and fear. Those two tend to translate into the basis for all the others.In America, we have a system that thrives on keeping racism alive.

For some, it is an industry in which they make their living. That extends into other areas like environmentalism, etc.As well. If you make a living from such, you cannot afford for the issue to reach a balance or to ever be solved.

There is far too much of that attached to racism in America and will be as long as people respond to the stimulus of those who make money when it rears its head.WB.

I am sorry that you go thru things because of your skin tone. A lot of it has to do with pride and the feeling of having the 'right' skin tone or race. The feeling of importance plays a major role.

People feel that they are more deserving because everything belongs to the 'right' people. I often wonder why people are so proud of what they had no choice in. They had no say in what color or race they would be.

Pride is not a necessary emotion, but if you are going to have it at all, it should be for something that you strived for, achieved, and had control over. That is my 2 cents.

We're all the same underneath my friend.... we're all human and all should have the same rights. I think the racists are very small in percentage and are very small minded people. Why people are racist I do not know for sure, maybe just a hatred for anything/anyone different from themselves.

Tried to understand and reflect on your question after reading Toni Morrison's 'Beloved', if you have time to spare, visit my site and see for yourself if I manage to answer your question..it is not easy one to grasp, but believe 'racists' are usually not aware that they are racists, because so many racist practices have been for so long acceptable throughout our human history and the main reason for racism has been the exploitation of other human beings in order to make profit on them...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
