It also seems that in recent years the Academy loves giving out prizes to first-time screenwriters and Dustin Lance Black certainly fits that bill. Dustin's other notable work is HBO drama series Big Love about a polygamistic Mormon family.

Should Win: Andrew Stanton, Jim Reardon and Pete Doctor for Wall-E It's hard for something with little dialogue to win an Oscar in what many think is a line-writing contest, but Wall-E should take home this prize with a gorgeously funny story that had a real theme it explored with the perfect amount of subtlety. As good as film writing gets.

Will win - Slumdog Millionaire - Simon Beaufoy For taking an anecdotal novel and weaving it into the most beloved film of the year. Our first chance to get into the "Slumdog" lovefest. This is an easy win for Simon Beaufoy.

This movie just isn't going to lose any of its three major nominees. Should win - Doubt Movie - John Patrick Shanley "Doubt" may have been one of the worst-directed good films in recent memory, but its screenplay was nearly as strong as the multi-award-winning play on which it was based. Brilliantly layered, a theme that grabs you at the beginning, and characters so richly drawn that Viola Davis got an Oscar nomination for appearing in one scene.

This is not a very strong category, but "Doubt" is certainly worthy of an Oscar. Anothe great script by the winner Simon Beaufoy is The Full Monty - 1997 British comedy film.

Peter Morgan will win for Frost/Nixon. I'm actually pretty good with that - who would have thought that a very long series of interviews could be adapted into a movie?

I have never seen any story like Slumdog Millionaire. Not only was the heart of the story and plot very different than anything I've ever seen, but the WAY it was told was very well thought out. I loved how they used the flashbacks, and how they jump cut to the various stages in his life.So to answer your question, Simon Beaufoy will win and should the best adapted Screenplay Oscar for 2009.

I think Benjamin Button will win because it was a real stretch from short story to full-length movie.

Who Will Win – Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire). I think Slumdog is going to sweep the Oscars, with no exception in this category. Who Should Win – Gus Van Sant (Milk).

I say this because I think this was a difficult film to direct. He did a marvelous job. If you haven't seen Boyle's film 'Sunshine' or Van Sant's film 'Elephant', you should definitely check them out!

I believe Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle will win because the story itself (even the look of the movie) is so UNIQUE. I don't mind Danny Boyle winning (and he probably does deserve it), but a strong case could be made for David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) because of the difficulty of directing a story which is complex and involves a character's entire lifespan.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
