Anyone who picks Hoffman over Rivera is either lying or they are so anti-Yankees that they are lying to themselves. And people who are just comparing regular season stats are missing a huge part of the equation. After all, isn't the ultimate goal in baseball to win the World Series?
And Mo's post season numbers are mind blowing. So even if you think Hoffman is better based on regular season stats, the post season numbers all but seals the deal for Mo.
The reason why people pick Hoffman over Mo is because Hoffman has more career saves and will reach the 600 plateau before Mo gets his opportunity. Also, the strikeout numbers favor Hoffman. In Hoffman's career he has fanned 1131 batters while Mo has punched out 1043 men.
What many people don't realize is that Mo's career ERA is lower than Hoffman's. Mo has also racked up 53.1 more innings than Hoffman, who has racked up 1080 of them. So considering both of their stats, you just don't where to stand with the argument.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
