Equality of outcome stinks of communism. Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: The communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have as much.' -- Phelps Adams That is, provided they make an effort.
Freedom demands that all people must be free and equal as humans. It does not demand all people must be equal in all things. I've known many smart people who have lived pitiful lives and average people who have far exceeded "potential".
The Constitution promises the freedom for the "pursuit of happiness". It does not promise to deliver it to your door.
As a Democrat, I'm not looking for necessarily an equal outcome as I am looking for the fulfillment of basic human needs. I believe standards have to be set globally to fulfill the basic needs of nourishment, shelter and health insurance. For those conservatives that want to accuse of giving people a free ride, you're wrong.
It's nothing but pathetic rhetoric. Welfare, for example, if a job becomes available and the person refuses to take it, cut them off from aid indefinitely. There is no reason why we need to have homelessness, starvation and lack of health insurance.
By the way, equality of opportunity is a myth. Not everyone is born with exactly the same resources. Some are born with more than others, and therefore have more opportunity.
The fact that they might blow it is a different story.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
