And to answer your question, government officials can't give their personal opinions on matters pertaining to religion here aka separation of church and state. He may or may not support the mosque being built but his personal opinion is not needed. We have the Constitution to make up all our minds.
And Obama made it clear that Muslim-Americans are just as entitled to freedom of religion as anyone else in America and NO ONE can deny that. If they build the mosque there, you'll all need to accept that choice.
