I am appalled by the posters here who simply cannot relate to people in your situation. THEY will never be in that situation, of course. It is only for...who knows what they are thinking.
My heart goes out to you, which of course is no help at all. I can only hope and pray some relief will come for you and for the thousands of others who are suffering badly enough from enforced unemployment, you should not have to listen to the I'm-superior-because-I-have-a-job-why-ca... and their self-serving remarks. Let us hope and pray that the cruel Repugs who are at the bottom of much of this suffering get turned out of office.
Then _they_ will have to find a job. God bless you, dear friend.
I am curious. At what point does it go from being unemployment "insurance" and it simply becomes another long term hand out? The normal unemployment benefits last for six months.
The unemployment benefits that are currently being held up would extend that for another 20 weeks (4 3/4 months). These benefits have been in effect for the past several months and expired recently. In my opinion, the vast majority of people should be able to find a new job in six months unless they are being too particular about either the field of work, specific job requirements or salary.
Unemployment was originally intended to help people out while they found a new job. Today it is most often used as an excuse to keep looking for the perfect job.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
