Yes, you cannot collective bargain as a public sector employee. It's idiotic to think you can. The public sector does not produce a profitable product that can bring in increased revenues.
Their revenues are dependent on taxpayers and the overall economy. Therefore, Walker's proposal that increases based on inflation are fair. The downside is that with the ridiculous spending under G.W. and Obama, inflation is higher than the manipulated CPI really shows.
If unions use their political power to help correct that issue, it will help us all. In the meantime, contribute to your pension like the rest of us, contribute to your healthcare like the rest of us, and quit thinking you will determine your own salary. The private sector has had a few years of frozen salaries while you dingbats have cried to your unions for more money from the taxpayers.
I am pro teachers, anti-union. Teachers are the true backbone of our nation. If it wasn't for them, the vast majority of us wouldn't even be able to use this site because we wouldn't be able to read, type, or spell.
Teachers should be paid more (some less like the "library media specialists" in some WI public schools who make close too $200,000) but we don't need unions involved.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
