Why are we here? Only to grow, mature, shrivel and die like a tomato plant?

I have a theory but please remember I said "theory". I believe we may be here to learn - much like we spend the first years of our lives in school, we spend this time on earth learning the basics so that we may become "adult souls" later. We spend this time learning to interact with people, learning to love God, learning to accept God's love, learning how to live.

Just like we squandered some of our school days, we squander some of our life not realizing the next step. As far as "shriveling and dying like a tomato plant"...that's just a shedding of this life's earthly form so that we may take on the next form.

I suspect we're just here, like the planets, and the rest of a very large universe that has no concern for us. We're born, we die, we wear digital watches. The only reason to our lives is what we give it.

For some that maybe family, friends, religion, business. Our lives are ours and we give them meaning. For others, we don't need a reason, we just are.

It's a liberating way to live. It means that every action, good and bad, we own it, we take full responsibility for it. Not because God demands it, or even wants it.

We do right and wrong because we choose it.

Dark Knight Rides... In my humble opinion, everything has a reason. The planets, the sun, the moon and your and my existence. So I tend to agree with The Rope and Whowantstono about the reason for our being. It's a matter of opinion.....:-).

We're here to shine, be abundant, learn the path of joy, creativity and harmony, and practice our conscientious work to stay in the light of greater truth.

Why we are here, I feel, goes beyond reason as we are part of an eternal creation; and cannot be stuck in our current state, our current condition, and risk experiencing the greater good. We are more than "on this earth, in this life" as we are all one in the cosmos, with boundless love and compassion to offer.

We are here, I believe, in this mere snippet of time within the infinite, to share with each other, shine our own light and help others with grace and no expectation-- or at least practice such. We're here to celebrate the fact that we ARE here, for as long and much as possible.

Why doesn't matter. Because you deal with what you are given.

If you want to follow an endless path of unanswerable questions you can choose between science - quantum mechanics, or you can choose to believe in creationism.

In either case both will lead you down a path of unanswered questions which in the end will lead you to create your own belief system.

But, like the tomato plant we still bear fruit. Even if that fruit shrivels and dies, it's still damn tasty on pizza! YUM.

Seriously, though. The reason why I am here is different than the reason why you are here. If you look at the life of a human, from the moment of birth, life is a series of experiences.

Because we have free will, we get to choose what we do with those experiences. We get to choose how we react to them; how we learn from them; how we modify ourselves, our beliefs, and our actions because of them.

Each choice we make affects our own reality, so you build your own life around them. Because we are all individuals, the choices we make and the experiences we have are extremely different. Just as what may be true for you may or may not be true for someone else, why you are here may be completely different to why I am here.

Only you can know why you are here. The answer to your own question may be hidden deep within yourself. I'd trust your instinct, look at the patterns that have come up in your life, look at your passion and the things that totally rev you up and then maybe you'll find your answer.

I don't want to be overly complicated nor do I want to be overly simplistic, but every answer you seek lies inside of you. Every answer any of us seek lies inside of us; the difficult part is learning how to get there and learning how to find it. We talk about planets, solar systems, and the universe as a whole.

Depending on how you look at it, we are a universe in our own right as each one of us shines with our own individualistic ways.

Find that place inside of you, go deep, and therein will lie your answer.

We were put here on earth to work together.

Simple, to be who you are, and who you are, provides balance.

All existence is on a journey! We all came forth from the Creator, which is half the journey. And, of course, the second half is the route back unto the Creator.

Everything in between is simply "filler". But, that filler is pretty much that which we consciously will as a result of "free will".

Most of the occurences in our lives art a result of that which we will, whether we understand this or not. Karma is a real thing, and is a part of every religion that is. Yet, immortality is real also, and it apply unto all of creation.

So, Love is the key unto all that is, was, or ever shall be, for it was the Creator's Love from which we art created. Therefore, Love is the satisfying component unto all existence. And, if there exist one reason for life, one key unto life, that key/reason is Love, for God is Love.

Love makest the journey most pleasurable!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
