Why are we more concerned with celebrities than the politicians that screw up our lives?

The reason why we are more concerned with celebrities is because our society is obsessed with the so called 'fantasy lives' of the rich and famous. Right now Tiger Woods is all over the news and meanwhile no one knows what's going on in the white house. When something bad happens to a celebrity they eagerly report it because their little perfect world is not that perfect any more.

I belief this is an American thing tough. I'm from Holland and in Europe the news is not like it is over here. We hear about wars, third world countries and politics in the US and Europe.

Tiger Woods would only get mentioned one time and that's it. They wouldn't dedicated the entire news to him.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
