President Bush was invited. He made the choice to not attend. Depending on who you believe, he either 1.) did not want to "steal the thunder" from Obama, or 2.

) he was sulking because Obama succeeded where he failed, or 3. ) he is enjoying his life as it is now, and has no desire to step back into the spotlight. I, personally, feel he did not attend out of a mix of 1 and 3.

And I would like to say that although I disliked President Bush intensely, I think that former President Bush showed a good deal of class in his turning down President Obama's invitation. You will notice Bush has stayed in the background for the Obama Presidency. S stated desire is to not detract from Obama's leadership and stature. I think this admirable and Bush as held fast to what he said he would do.

GWB made it clear from the jump that he was retiiring from politicxs as much as possible. He hasn't been second guessing Obama in public as Jimmy Carter has done since he lost the election in 1980.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
