Why did Obama vote against raising the debt ceiling in 2006 but now that he is President its ok?

Because he is mastering duplicity as he ages. It's okay to complain about someone else, but when the problem is squarely his, the viewpoint changes. What a joke.

He is okay with it because he has created the problem and has supported many things that exacerbated the problem. If he doesn't support it at this point, he will be called out publicly as a hypocrite and subsequently vilified for incompetence by the limited percentage of voters who actually understand what's going on.

Different times call for different responses. Its not that its ok, its that the alternatives available and sensible back then would not do for the condition the economy is in now. The debt limit does not authorize new spending commitments.

It simply allows the government to finance existing legal obligations that Congresses and presidents of both parties have made in the past.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
