Evolution doesn't require belief. It is backed up by a preponderance of overwhelming evidence. Belief in God does require faith, and love of God, not fear of God (or damnation) should be your motivator.
There is no "debate" between evolution & creation. They are both true. Only people who don't understand what evolution actually IS (changes in allele frequencies in populations of organisms over multiple generations) are chastised by the profoundly ignorant who think it is something totally fabricated by "creationist" con men (eg.
Kent Hovind - - now in jail for tax fraud). Atheists believe evolution can stand alone, without any need of any "gods," and all the mainline Jews/Christians (as well as others) believe God initiated and is guiding the process of evolution at least all these people KNOW what evolution IS, and can understand all the physical evidence (like genetics) that proves it happens. All these folks also understand that a scientific THEORY serves as the explanation for all the FACTS in evidence.
(There is nothing higher than a scientific Theory) while the "creationists" think it means "wild guess." So that leaves the biblical literalist/fundamentalist/creationists outside of both REALITY and scripture, putting their faith in the lies of cult leaders & false preachers who've never studied science or ancient Hebrew (the language/culture/symbolism etc.) and mistakenly think the Holy Bible is a science textbook, rather than a 4000 + year old collection of Judeo-Christian spiritual history. The evolution deniers are actually dangerous to our society (U.S.A) where our science/math scores are now only 30th in the world.
Likewise, they are also harming Christianity by making us all look delusional. Why would any one trust us in spiritual matters, when they make all of us seem so ignorant about physical matters? They like to point fingers and make "judgments" that Christians who accept evolution are going against God, or calling God a "liar" -- when in truth -- THEY are the ones restricting the power of God to their own limited capacity to understand the world.
Just because evolution is "tooooo haaarrd" for them to understand, they prefer to cower in fear and claim "goddidit" all. Well, God did, but God obviously used, the big bang, abiogenesis, and evolution in order to accomplish it ---- because THAT is what all the physical evidence proves.
Hi. You're doing well. The very fact that you are reading the Bible is commendable.
There are a lot of various Bible study aids you can find at jw.org you may want to check it out. Especially the book "What Does the Bible Really Teach." Here is the direct link to .
Pdf version: http://download.jw.org/files/media_books... It will take time for you to understand everything. So don't worry about whether you haven't fully convinced yourself of the entire truth yet. The truth is like water.
A soft rain in spring is refreshing, but a downpour or rain all at once can annoying, even dangerous. You will, if you keep learning about the truth and drawing closer to God see that he did in fact create all things according to his wisdom, and did not use the process of evolution. In Genesis the very first chapter you will see that he created everything according to their kind.
True he has created within the genetic structure adaptability to environment, thus the wide variety of animals within a certain "kind" of animal. Nevertheless you will never see a certain "kind" of animal evolve into another. A dog will always be a dog, there may be varieties (same can go with finches etc.) They cannot procreate with other species, nor have they ever been observed, either in real life, or in the fossil record, to have evolved into new kinds of animals.
The teaching of evolution is not compatible with the healthful words of truth as inspired by Jehovah God.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
