Why do Catholic/Anglican clergy wear flamboyant pompous robes yet Jesus Christ wore ordinary clothing?

Amazing question friend, it is because they are more concerned about the outside appearance, instead of loving God from the heart. They go to these third world countries to encourage them with God's Word , However they are flashing off their Gold possessions, when these people have hardly anything to eat. There is a verse in the Bible that depicts what they are.

Matthew 23: 27: 27 “Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because YOU resemble whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful but inside are full of dead mens bones and of every sort of uncleanness. 28 In that way YOU also, outwardly indeed, appear righteous to men, but inside YOU are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

So Jesus had something that the Pope, his Bishops and many others do not have: Humility. He was more concerned in doing his Father's will the preach about the Kingdom instead of putting a show of piety.

They just want to look good, that's all! A bit of opulence and pomp and ceremony never hurt anybody, and it helps keep the Great Unwashed in awe, don't you know. Truth is, if Jesus could somehow come back, he would be absolutely mortified and horrified at what they have done with his simple teachings.

He would have more than a few tables to turn over, I can tell you. He would probably hire a fleet of bulldozers and raze the Vatican, just for starters.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
