The problem arises when your career can be damaged by the words of critics. If I had a conviction, it wouldn't matter how many critics I had as I could only develop a conviction out of sincere exploration, reflection and an open mind to other possibilities. The stability of my argument wouldn't diminish if there were a thousand critics if in my heart, my conviction held truth. I have lived my whole life in this way.As a matter of fact, my beliefs about reality have millions of critics.
I couldn't care less who criticizes me. I have never been a follower. I have no fear about traveling a road less traveled.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
