Why do evangelical christians never say their denomination instead of that they say I am christian?

Those quotes are from leaders in the United Presbyterian Church, which no longer exists, nor has it existed for several decades. It merged into the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America (PCUSA). The PCUSA is currently the largest Presbyterian denomination in the U.S. today with approximately 1.6 million members.

It is known for being extremely liberal politically and theologically; they ordain women as ministers, favor interpreting historical portions of the Bible allegorically, and recently have begun conducting same-sex marriages. Moreover they have abandoned for the most part traditional Reformed theology. If you don't know what that is, think "Calvinism."

However, this does not reflect Presbyterianism as a whole. There exists in the United States another large Presbyterian denomination, though not nearly as large (360 thousand members), called the PCA. This denomination does not bow to the rising tide of modernism and maintains that homosexuality is an abomination and one cannot be both gay and Christian.

The PCA also holds to historical Reformed theology. In other words, they are Calvinist and hold to the doctrines of grace.

As a function of time, people fall away from the faith - proving that they are not fit for God and his kingdom. God expected this and so should we. In a race, only those who finish gain the prize.

Others drop out early or become disqualified along the way. Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Heb 12:2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Fn Because of the joy fn awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.

Heb 12:3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; fn then you won't become weary and give up.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
