Why do JWs have such trust in the faithful and discreet slave?

It is collectively the members of the 144,000 who are alive at any one time - that is, the 144,000 have been selected from Pentecost forward to our day - who obviously are not all alive at the same time. Acts chapter 2 gives the account of the beginning of the selection of the "faithful and discreet slave." So whatever the number of those alive in that group at any one time would be the "faithful and discreet slave" of their day.

Jesus gave an illustration referred to as the "wheat and weeds" in Matthew chpater 13. He states in verse 30 that both the wheat and the weeds will grow together TILL the harvest which is defined as the conclusion of the system of things - or as some say, the end of the world. This shows that the "sons of the kingdom" who constitute the 144,000 will co-exist with those who follow false Christianity throught the tenure of "growth" from Pentecost till our day, which is marked by the "last days".

This "faithful and discreet slave" is responsible to "keep on the watch" as Jesus commanded in Matthew 24:42. The verses following, verses 43-47 - which include the verses concerning the "faithful and discreet slave", apply to that statement of Jesus. Keeping Christains as a whole aware of Bible knowledge and research and world developments as they apply to Bible prophecy is their responsiblity and commission.

This includes the spearheading of the preaching of the good news of God's Kingdom. If someone is in a religion or professes a faith that never mentions or has not identified the "faithful and discreet slave" for them, then they need to take a step back and examine why. Because Jesus ties in his "coming" in with the activities of this slave class per Matthew 24:42 and 46.

If it is not identified, then it would be possible to miss the "spiritual food" that is being offered and used to help us all keep awake.

Collectively, spirit-anointed Christians were to be the master’s steward, or house manager, assigned to dispense timely spiritual food to the individual members of the household of God. Between the years 41 C.E. and 98 C.E., members of the first-century steward class were divinely inspired to write 5 historical accounts, 21 letters, and the book of Revelation for the benefit of their brothers. These inspired writings contain fine spiritual food for the domestics, that is, individual anointed ones of God’s household.

To help us draw strength from his Word, Jehovah has commissioned “the faithful and discreet slave” to dispense spiritual food. That faithful slave class uses printed publications, including the journals The Watchtower and Awake! , as well as meetings, assemblies, and conventions to provide us with “food at the proper time”—what we need, when we need it.

(Matthew 24:45) And they are the 144,000 spirit-anointed Christians will share with Christ in his heavenly Kingdom, ruling as kings with him. They do not believe that heaven is the reward for everyone who is “good.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
