The actual reason they dropped it was the cost. Makes you wonder if the anti-gun Liberal faction were taxed another two three hundred dollars a year for a registery if they would still be for it? Most would not.
They also do no think about the dollars provided by the taxes on hunting gear and guns and ammunition that pay for the rangers at the parks and conservation. I guess they won't mind paying another couple hundred a year for this when they cut back on those hunters. Point is already hunting is on the decline in many areas and these dollars have declined creating a lack of funds for conservation and the upkeep of state lands.
That money will have to be made up somewhere. So property taxes are increased.
As a member of the Tea Party currently living in Canada, I don't see it helping. A lot of people here go to the US and buy guns there and cross them back, and also most of the US/Canada Border is unmanned so anything can go through there. Also there have been shootings here and those guns used are illegal here so really there is no point in it if you can cross over the US and get it.
Might as well arm the good citizens because no matter what the criminals are always going to get them. Recently the Government of Canada got rid of the long gun registry so there is some progress :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
