The federal government has no particular expertise or technological knowledge as to how to stop the spill. That is within the scope of the oil drilling experts. The federal government however can certainly get food, water and security to US citizens in a major US city.
President Obama has handled the current situation appropriately. Bush's response, or rather lack thereof, was a national disgrace that was seen around the world.
I'm from New Orleans born and raised. I don't think the Katrina response is purely Bush's fault, I also don't think the slow results of the Gulf disaster is Obama's fault. My problem is when stupid *** people want to exploit what happened to New Orleans and the rest of the gulf coast for political reasons.
Honestly if your not from New Orleans or the gulf coast, what you think of the response of either situation doesn't mean anything. Your weren't down here to see first hand what the responses were so you really don't know the facts other than what you get from all the BS on the news. So what does your opinion mean to any one down here?
You don't have to deal with whats happening so don't use us as a debate platform for the 2012 elections.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
