Why do people ASSume that people who are on assistance, such as food stamps and section 8 housing, are lazy?

Their lack of insight into how the world actually works and into why there are impoverished among us is stunning..

It's not conservative wisdom that anyone getting freebies from the govt is lazy, stupid, worthless, etc. On the contrary, people on the dole are just following their own self-interest and the more ambitious people who work enough to pay taxes are the "chumps," in a way, pulling the increasingly loaded-up cart instead of riding in it. Conservative wisdom does say, though, that if foodstamps and other govt freebies were to be cut back or even eliminated that you would not have starving/dying people as a result. Rather, the result would be people supporting themselves.

Look what happened with welfare reform under Clinton, passed by the GOP Congress: when people were cut off they did what any sane, intelligent person would do: they went out and got a job. Liberals just don't get it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
