Why do people think that if society collapsed, 310 million Americans could live in the woods?

Not only do you make sense, but you're absolutely right and your situation is not unique. Many people are going through what you're currently experiencing, and some people are going through even worse predicaments. Our economic system is built around exploitation and inequality, and is designed to heavily disadvantage the majority of people so that a tiny minority can benefit immensely.

It is the cause of wars, tyranny and oppression. It creates scarcity where there is abundance and prioritizes material gain over human need. It is why our politicians are corrupt and our education system sucks.

It is the reason why the hardest workers of all barely make enough to survive, while those who do little to nothing are allowed to live lives of luxury. It cannot survive without intimidation or indoctrination. Its supporters tell us that it is human nature, that there is no better system and that we are free, but it is the opposite of our nature and is a proven failure.

It only creates the illusion of freedom, for it cannot coexist with alongside true freedom. It rightfully belongs in the dustbin of history. Looking forward, humanity should seek to establish a system characterized by common ownership of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy.

It must be a system that champions justice and equality, that prioritizes human need over individual gain. A system where every individual is entitled to the wealth their labor produces and is free to determine their own destiny. A system where everyone's needs are met and no one is allowed to go without.

A system built upon compassion and solidarity, where the masses are educated and empowered universally. What humanity needs, now more than ever, is the establishment of a socialist economy. Only then will true freedom be possible.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
