Excellent question. IMO they use it as an excuse. And as TheLightWorks said, they are allowed to get away with it.So they drop the pity card whenever they are in trouble.

It's just an exscuse they use to see if anyone will buy into it,(poor me I do these things because I had it so rough here and there. ) .

As you well note, EVERYONE's life is a "hard life" in some respect. Thus, to your question: it's a bad excuse; we humans are worse for letting it slide. This is why I believe we should teach more biographies in our public schools.

Maybe if more children knew what George Washington Carver and Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. went thru, we'd have fewer whining babies and more triumphs over adversity.

There are rational people and rationalizing people. Rationalizing people like to blame other people and conditions for failures they are responsible for.

When they mature they may stop blaming others...just start to make their life be right.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
