Why do public employees feel that taxpayers should pay for the entire cost of their health care and pension?

I agree. The free market is the solution to all of our problems. We need, as a nation, to follow in Wisconsin's footsteps and ban unions.

So there isn't any gun to the heads of the governors who signed on to them over the years. If government made false promises they should be held accountable, not the people, it is not, the fault of labor if management refused to fund through the years, the amounts they knew they would have to pay out one day. Perhaps unpopular, but still necessary is that taxes be raised.

People took public sector jobs because of the job security and they traded the higher paychecks in private business for that security. Teacher teach because they want to, not because they become rich doing it. Is it your suggestion that they be paid less than middle income so others don't have to have their taxes raised?

Should only public service workers bear the income losses so others don't have to pay their fair share, and lets not forget that they pay taxes too. Moreover its not the money in WI, its the fact that the governor also wants an end to collective bargaining and that would effectively bust the union. The workers don't want that, and that is what they are protesting.

If the Governor were serious about his concern for the deficit, he'd leave the union busting for another day.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
