It is popular and makes some sense. The left is fragmented and tends to be grumpy. Who wants to listen to that?

Because fox watchers love to be told their outrage is justified. It's easier than having to think for themselves. Seriously, it has been proven, countless times, that fox lies and misleads its viewers.

Yet people still flock to watch them. A sad commentary on the intelligence of people in this country, when they prefer to be lied to, than have to actually use their brains and process the truth.

And, before you ask, here are citations. foxnewslies.net/http://www.newshounds.us...?p=fox+news+liesLet me know if you need more. There's plenty.

If it was just one citation, or group, then the possibilites of that might be valid. When you get hundreds of different groups, organizations, and people all saying the same thing, then no. It is not possible.

We have all seen them use video of one gathering, and attempt to pass it off as another. We have seen their talking heads get caught in flat out lies, time after time. We have SEEN fox apologise for their falsehoods, more than once - (when they could no longer cover them up).

I'm done here. I provided my proof. When you can prove anything you say as truth, let me know.

Are they enemies of conservatives? Rock 7 months ago .

They are more accurate, balanced and fair than their competitors. The libs will say FOX listeners are stupid when they are acturlly more educated and more affluent than viewers of other networks. They have no answer for the truth.

It says most viewers are conservative. Rock 7 months ago .

Having decades of news with a liberal slant (ABC, CBS, NBC) as the only kind US citizens received libs were happy. Now that they have one television network that gives both sides to an issue they are angry and confused. In addition, Conservative talk radio is smearing liberal talk radio.

That is driving them crazy as shown by the acerbic statements made about the Conservative talk show hosts. They are called racists, homophobes, misogyinsts, haters, terrorists and traitors by the open minded liberals on the left. Their minds seem to be open only to people and ideas they agree with.

The internet is really pi**ing them off because it allows those "unwashed, uneducated, redneck, ignorant and hate filled Conservatives who cling to their Bibles and guns and are against people who don't look like them" to offer their opinion. They know that those people should be seen and not heard since they certainly think "the right way" according to them. Who the hell do those people think they are?

They actually believe that the First Amendment protects freedom of speech for everyone and not just the liberals. Censorship, through political correctness and vitriolic attacks agains anyone who doesn't agree with their "moral" code is "fair" to them. I am beginning to feel sorry for them.

Since they certainly don't think "the right way" Sorry .

And for Goldie, who has become the resident pedantic English monitor, its and it's are both acceptable. ('sic) .

The apostrophe is used to replace missing letters in contractions, to indicate the possessive form of certain nouns, and to form the plural of some words in very specific situations. Since the is obviously a possesive form the use of the apostrophe is correct. If you are so intent on showing your mental superiority by use of (sic) to try to demean another member you have already lost.

Also, the English language is fluid and something what is correct today may be deemed improper tomorrow. Most of us don't have the time to spend looking up the latest changes. I guess you and a small cadre of people like you have that time on their hands.

The pity is that those people are unable to detect their own vapidity.

English "rules" are , in reality, suggestions. Rock 7 months ago .

They are as popular as they are because they have a monopoly on non-leftish TV news coverage. ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC and NBC are all left leaning in the coverage. Most Americans are not that way.

So Fox has a large market to itself. Also, the present the news well.

I couldn't care less if that's the truth. Millions of people watch Jersey Shore, too. Do you think it's because they think that's what real life is like?

In fact, MORE people watch Jersey Shore than FOX Noise. What do you think that means? .

BTW, if by "all it's (sic) competitors" you mean cable news, you'd be right. But then they are also the only cable news that PAID $11 per subscriber, too. I would think that gives one a significant edge, wouldn't you?

Of course you don't.

PAID $11. You can't believe that. Rock 7 months ago .

PAID $11. You can't believe that. Yes, I do believe it.

But I'm sure you don't, because FOX Noise hasn't told you to.

FOX hasn't told me anything like that. Site your source. Rock 7 months ago .

Do your own homework. I'm not here to convince you of anything. People with inquisitive minds who seek the truth know how to find answers.

If you don't, tough.

DM says, "And for Goldie, who has become the resident pedantic English monitor, its and it's are both acceptable. "Wrong. (Rock and you must have graduated from the same high school!

) "It's" is a contraction of it is or it has. All you have to do is substitute the phrase "it is" in your sentence to see if it makes sense. In this case, it clearly does not.

>Are you really reduced to that? If you feel that being accurate is a character flaw, I stand accused: "(sic)—when added just after a quote or reprinted text, indicates the passage appears exactly as in the original source. So is your question! Where's your proof? And if the suggestion that you do research is an "accusation," I can only say that it is a sad day indeed when someone is so brainwashed that the suggestion that they investigate an issue is an "accusation.

" I'm sorry that the thought of thinking offends you.

It's such a cheap shot. A response to any question on askville can be "Do your own homework". Rock 7 months ago .

Well, I'm not in that club, so if there is a connotation to that phrase here on AV that is negative, I'm sorry. I'm not huge on that whole 'citation, please' thing either - unless it's a request for information that is not public knowledge.

Most of us don't have the time to spend looking up the latest changes. If you think proper use of "it's" and "its" is a recent change, what era are you from? Neanderthal?

Maybe this little lesson will help you. It's from English as a Second Language:It's vs. ItsIt's is the contracted form of It is. This form is used in sentences using "they" as the subject of the sentence with the verb "to be" used as either the helping verb (e.g. It's going ..., It's raining ...) or the principal verb of the sentence.

Examples:It's difficult to find work these days. It's going to rain soon. Its is the possessive pronoun form.

This form is used to express that "it" has a specific quality, or that something belongs to "it". esl.about.com/od/grammarintermediate/a/c... days I really do feel like it's* raining morans on AV...*it is htm.

Less malarkey mixed in with the malarkey is my guess.

That is the truth. You must have had the operation.

That's certainly what I think of this question.

For the same reason the Roman coliseum stayed packed & Barnum made a fortune, while dust gathers in the libraries.

Good point. How about for the same reason ripple outsells pinot noir.

Because they're like the National Enquirer, rumor, inuendo and outrageous accusations. Their motto seems to be when there is no news, make it up. First of all, you have to realize that it's owned by Rupert Murdock who made his money from publishing "rags".

(We have one in the NY Post. ) Second, Roger Ailes runs the News division and he's a family friend of the Bush family. I met him when I worked at ABC and he was soliciting funds for Bush, 41's run for the presidency.

They made a decision to slant the news favorably toward the GOP since they felt that NBC, and WNBC had a more liberal point of view. Having said that, because of Murdock's love of sensationalism, and the never-ending quest for ratings, they hire people like Glenn Beck (certifiable), and Bill O'Reilly (sane at least) and welcomed controversial figures like Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann to voice their point of view. Some of the viewers are dedicated advocates of their propaganda, others just like to see what outrageous scheme they are dreaming up next.

Things should heat up with the Tea Party on board and the upcoming presidential election.

I don't think that at all. But were we operating on that presumption and looking for a reason, I would start by investigating the nature of its product, and determine whether the "competitors" were, actually the full complement of competing outlets; or if it was an unbalanced market. I.E. are you defining competitors as other TV channels with "news" in their title; or are you looking at all infotainment sources.

Well; in that case, one factor is that there is a large number of people who do not watch TV news channels at all. Therefore; you must qualify the premise by saying that of people who watch TV news channels, more watch fox news than watch other news channels.

What about blind people who just listen to the shows and don't see them. Rock 7 months ago .

They speak the truth more often than other network news just enough to get your confidence and then mislead you. Jeez those guys are clever.

You believe in conspiracies. Rock 7 months ago .

No, I understand them. The Federal government has many laws against them, so there must be some consideration for them. We have a conspiracy going right here, the conspiracy to learn from each other, and if Big Brother wants to roast you, the evidence is right here.

Neither of us is qualified to be doing what we are doing here. Big Brother wants to come between us and use the word "conspiracy" to pigeon hole use as terrorists. You might want to read the MIAC report on terrorism, in it, Missouri law enforcement labels anyone who refers to the Constitution as a terrorist.

I'm not sure about any other news station -- BUT -- let me be the first to say: THANK YOU - FOX NEWS.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
