Ya gotta love it. After reading some of the responses from Fox hating Loons on this DB I just had to jump in. :) Every poll you mention is correct.
As a matter of fact there was one poll yesterday that actually asked Democrats what cable news channel they felt told the truth and reported fairly. Believe it or not Fox News won that poll. What you are hearing from some here are the death gasps of MSNBC and CNN that only a handful of people watch anymore.
They get more viewers when Fox runs a clip of something Maddox, Oberman, Matthews, and some of the CNN people say something dumb. You know, like a chill runs up my leg when Obama speaks. Or another classic, I almost Forgot Obama was black for an hour.
OReilly for example has lately been having more Lib's on than ever before. Ok Hannity is upfront and you know where he stands. I don't watch him since at that time of night I have to calm myself down or I will never get to sleep.
:) It take a while for my blood pressure to go down after watching one of his interviews with someone on the left. After the Obama speech last week SOTU I quickly switched to MSNBC and almost died laughing at Oberman's response. When the Republican finished his talk he said, "This speech means nothing, since this guy was just elected and no one even knows who he is".
Yep, fair and balanced.... CNN had all Democrat pundits and one lone Conservative trying to get a word in edgewise. Anyway, I love the falling numbers of MSNBC/CNN and the rising numbers for FOX mainly to see the askville Lib's go ballistic! BTW many "Normal" Democrats watch Fox news and don't have a problem with it at all.
I have family members who are staunch Democrats and always watch Fox. I know, I know, your DB people will say I am lying.
Because I get my news from elsewhere, learn things unreported by the others, mention it to my wife And since she watches FoxNews, she as often as not mentions that she had heard that on FoxNews. Ya see, they report actual news while the others deal in snooze. Don't like their slant?
Fine, don't watch them. Many others are available to provide news only and minimize slantedness. Some folks here on Askville think this little ratings tidbit is bad news--I think it's no news at all.
Because Americans are discovering that Fox tells the truth and CNN and MSNBC tell the "truth as they see it..." with the inevitable liberal bias they claim isn't there.
Fox news was started by Australian publisher Rupert Murdoch who was best known for his tabloids in England and around the world. He was a "Liberal" until it hit him that the action and money was with the "Right Wing". He even has said so in a number of interviews.
Conservatives tend to be more active. They shoot Doctors that do abortions. Palin supporters tried to rewrite history on Wikipedia to show that the wrong things she said were right.
Murdoch understood that this was where the money is. This post will be covered up by so many posts that it will not be read. McNight (2010) identifies four characteristics of his media operations: free market ideology; unified positions on matters of public policy; global editorial meetings; and opposition to a perceived liberal bias in other public media"After McEwen and Menzies retired, Murdoch transferred his support to the newly elected Leader of the Australian Labor Party, Gough Whitlam, who was elected in 1972 on a social platform that included universal free health care, free education for all Australians to tertiary level, recognition of the People's Republic of China, and public ownership of Australia's oil, gas and mineral resources.
"On 8 May 2006, the Financial Times reported that Murdoch would be hosting a fund-raiser for Senator Hillary Clinton's (D-New York) Senate re-election campaign.31In a 2008 interview with Walt Mossberg, Murdoch was asked whether he had "anything to do with the New York Post's endorsement of Barack Obama in the democratic primaries. " Without hesitating, Murdoch replied, "Yeah. He is a rock star.
It's fantastic. I love what he is saying about education. I don't think he will win Florida... but he will win in Ohio and the election.
I am anxious to meet him. I want to see if he will walk the walk. "3233In 2010 News Corporation gave $1M to the Republican Governors Association and $1M to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.343536Murdoch also served on the board of directors of the libertarian Cato Institute.
IMO, the only good news is on PBS, they don't yell or show a lot of graphics, they set down and discuss real issues for over a couple of minutes. From the beginning, FNC has placed heavy emphasis on visual presentation. Graphics were designed to be colorful and attention grabbing and to allow people to get the main points of what was being said even if they could not hear the host, through the use of on-screen text summarizing the position of the interviewer or speaker and "bullet points" when a host was giving commentary.
Fox News also created the "Fox News Alert," which interrupted regular programming when a breaking news story occurred. To accelerate its adoption by cable companies, Fox News paid systems up to $11 per subscriber to distribute the channel.16 This contrasted with the normal practice, in which cable operators paid stations carriage fees for the programming of channels. Much like .
1 right now, (and for the past year) there's a WHOLE LOT of disgruntled Republicans out there, and Fox is a very friendly place for disgruntled Republicans to go and hear about how terrible the current administration is.

I'm not sure about any other news station -- BUT -- let me be the first to say: THANK YOU - FOX NEWS.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
