Why does a computer just shut itself off? And not a scheduled or normal shutdown?

And not a scheduled or normal shutdown. Some days I come home from work and my computer is off. I hit the start button and it says Windows is resuming.

I don't want my computer to turn off at all since I have program I want continuously running when I am not home. It's Windows Vista OS. Asked by watermelon 18 months ago Similar questions: computer shut scheduled normal shutdown Computers > Software.

2 That just sounds like Vista is going into sleep mode because the computer isn't doing anything. As soon as a program is activated, it will wake up. It's saving you some electricity.

If you don't want your computer to do this, you can go into SETTINGS and change your Power options. You want the PERFORMANCE setting.
