Why would your 2000 Olds Alero turn over then immediately shut itself off?

All them do...any year...just bad luck! Answer if the security light on your dash comes on, the anti theft security feature may have been activated. If so, you have to wait about 10 mins for it to reset and try again.

The problem could be either with the key or the ignition. Neither is cheap. Took mine to the dealer and it was over 100 bucks for a new key, the ignition would be about 250 I think.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
