I disagree with a lot of the sanctions you're talking about, but the idea that Iran "doesn't hate anyone" is just a bit of a stretch. But to answer your question, the United States has never opposed a regime solely on the idea that they don't like dictatorship. That's nonsense that idiots believe.

The only reason the US opposed regimes is because they view them as threats to their economic interests. The US has no problem with the Saudis because the Saudis supply them with oil.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
