Because it threatens some sense of the status quo. My advice to Tea partiers is that if anyone gets out of hand among you beat them until candy comes out right then and there. Nobody can make claims against you "racism" as long as you appear to be policing your own.

But then again....why are people so afraid of a name hurled by people that hate them anyway? "Racist" is no more or less insulting than "n*gger." I would avoid using either because they are both silly and both entirely fabricated.

Because the Tea Party has become the vocal hand puppet of Extreme Right.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
