Why does my male duck keep trying to mate with one of my hens?

The duck probably is seeking companionship with anything similar to it's old lover. Plus, he'll naturally have urges to remain dominant and the way most animals do that is by mating.

Sometimes, poultry will try to assert their dominance in this manner.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
